SOL than last season's more action packed shonen/shoujo/dark fantasy type storyline.Chise has no need to learn survival in the wilderness. Fae will happily do everything and anything to make sure she survives.

When Adolf said Renfred is a terrible drunk, I was expecting his conduct to get worse but he ends up falling asleep lol.

It was interesting to see Rian and Philomela when they were younger, I'm looking forward to seeing if we get to see how their relationship falls apart since they looked so close. Rian was a lot more expressive as well and Philomela was clearly not gloomy.

This is episode 7 and according to MAL we're only getting 12 episodes this time. As such it seems as though the pace is going to have to pick up quite a bit for us to get anywhere with the story.

Well this arc in particular is more focused on Chise and her time at the college espacially in the early parts so us seeing less Elias is to be expected.

i'm guessing by the clothing shown, Stroud grew up in Dresden, Germany before WW1 or 2. i'm thinking WW1 but the scene with the corner store, the man, the woman, and the child was so brief i couldn't catch exactly what they were wearing. that'll give you some perspective on how old he is, how old 'magical' folks can get who have even a TOUCH of mage blood, and why Stroud's relationship with Renfred and Alice is so peculiar. that was a funny sneeze by Lindel when Stroud mentioned taking a vacation. :D hheehehehahah!

i wonder if that 'scent of the soul' thing is just a rumor/legend the 'other magical folks' have concerning mages? or is it the real deal and the actual reason Chise is able to sense where people are? perhaps Chise is getting more 'mojo' of her own and not just the cursed arm and Joseph's eyeball? it was funny when Chise fell and Rian suggested it was because Chise was applying TOO much strength to her grips on the climbing wall! :o heh! :> it would have been even funnier if she caught ahold of two of the grips and crushed them with her hands and that's why she fell...
